We have an opening for Director, Retail Communication at our corporate offices in Greensboro, NC (099). The individual will lead the Retail Communication Team in strengthening the ways in which information and directives reach the field team. The Director, Retail Communication will manage the gatekeeping process: streamlining, standardizing and simplifying all field related communication efforts. The Director, Retail Communication will collaborate with persons and teams across the corporate office daily, offering feedback, structure, and guidance as it relates to their communication efforts. This position will report to the Group Vice President of Operations.
What You'll Do:- Manages the development and execution of communication plans to support company strategies including annual calendars of key activities and dates for execution in the field.
- Partners with corporate office personnel to navigate and strategize regarding initiatives that require communication support.
- Collaborates and supports corporate communication projects including oversight of The Fresh Market Commercial Task Force.
- Develops content (both written and visual) for company-wide communications, ensuring effective integration and compliance with the directives and commitments of our leaders, as they relate to sales, marketing, merchandising and operations initiatives.
- Manages all visual communications and/or print materials to enhance and complement written communications.
- Provides editorial direction for company initiatives and policies when necessary.
- Maintains content, structure, organization, and overall design of the company Intranet site. Performs regular content review to ensure consistency in editorial, grammatical, and visual standards. Researches and develops new site features when possible and necessary.
- Measures effectiveness of communications vehicles, ensuring they meet the specific needs of their audience(s).
- Evaluates content and course-corrects as necessary, in order to improve the reliability and overall impact of communication programs and publications.
- People Manager of Retail Communication and Digital Communication Managers.
- Management of all internal communications focused on our field operations team.
- Management of Retail Zipline, The Fresh Market’s primary communication application for the field team.
- Communication of our merchandising programs and display plans.
- Management of field support services including-
- Uniform guidelines and procurement
- Guest cart and basket guidelines and procurement
- Refrigerated truck service
- Store headset and phone systems application (VoCoVo)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred Communications, English or Business) or related work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of/experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven collaborative skillset; able to work closely with fellow team members and office/field teams to accomplish goals.
- Excellent organizational skills. Project management training/experience preferred.
- Ability to work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, transitory, multi-faceted environment.
