The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Purchasing Specialist to be based at our Corporate Office in Greensboro, North Carolina (099). This position will be responsible for purchasing equipment for new stores/remodels and special projects. The successful candidate will be a strong team player possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager.
What You'll Do:- Placing equipment purchase orders.
- Receiving and vetting equipment quotes.
- Scheduling deliveries for new stores, remodels, special projects, and equipment replacements in existing stores.
- Provide follow up support for deliveries:
- Tracking deliveries
- Warranty support
- Damage claims
- Communication to appropriate stakeholders
The Purchasing Specialist will be expected to demonstrate a high level of integrity with our associates and vendors. The Purchasing Specialist must have excellent multi-tasking, communication (written and oral) and organizational skills. The Purchasing Specialist leads by example and works to produce high quality finished products.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite. Experience in Purchase Order systems preferred.
- Previous experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years supermarket Industry experience
- Ability to work at many different levels within our organization (Merchants, Technicians and Operators.)
- Highly motivated, creative individual, who thinks strategically and possesses strong analytical skills.
