The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Development and Architecture Manager in our Store Support Center (099). This position will be responsible for managing the Development and Architecture phases of all the new store projects, remodel projects and expansion projects. The successful candidate will be a strong team player possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment. This position will report to the Director of Development and Construction.
What You'll Do:- Manage and lead a team in the development and architectural phases of new store locations, remodels and expansion locations.
- Review and approval of site plans, building elevations, truck routing, LOD’s and all lease exhibits.
- Review and approval of all landlord work letters, and lease exhibits
- Review and approval of all building signage and site signage.
- Close coordination with real estate and the legal department to expedite new lease assembly and execution.
- Responsible for new location site surveys, survey findings review and coordination and budgeting for TFM cost.
- Responsible for hiring outside architects and managing the architectural process for new stores, remodels, expansions and sales initiatives.
- Work closely with the Development Project Managers (DPMs) on project budgets and have shared ownership of budgets.
- Close coordination with DPMs on all aspects of the development phase and architectural phase throughout the construction of each project.
- Manages Licensing Coordinator efforts for all stores (new and existing) to ensure licenses for all operations related activities are completed well in advance of opening and that renewals or new applications needed for new stores are completed expeditiously to prevent impact on sales at any existing store.
- Manages Project Expeditor role in support of all development functions with a focus on tools (Smartsheet focused), accurate reporting of dates, cost, and scope information to leadership and all stakeholders (via data input in Smartsheet), onboarding of new vendors in collaboration with relevant team members, training of current team members on tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering, Architecture, Business or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered as a substitute for formal education.
- 7-10 years of grocery industry experience.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and Smartsheets, or a similar project management tool (AutoCAD a plus).
- Proficiency with MS Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong Construction or Architectural Project Management experience.
- Advanced understanding of architectural & MEPR details, specifications, building codes, and health codes for project documents production.
- Ability to work with all levels within our organization and outside vendors (Vice Presidents, Real Estate Directors, Architects, Engineers, and Operators).
- Highly motivated, creative individual who works well with limited direct supervision.
