The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Licensing Coordinator in our Corporate Office in Greensboro, North Carolina (099). As a Licensing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination of the company’s licensing/permitting processes with respect to the procurement and renewal of licenses and permits for existing and new stores. The Licensing Coordinator will also engage with the executive management team, internal business units, store employees, government agencies, and third-party consultants on a daily basis.
This role will report to our Senior Real Estate Asset Manager.
What You'll Do:- Accurately and timely process all license/permit applications and renewals required for the stores to operate as grocery stores (including, without limitation, all alcohol licenses, business licenses and food sales permits)
- Maintain and analyze (in both hard copy and electronic format, using specialized software) licensing files and records (invoices, licenses, etc.)
- Track and monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to internal business units
- Consider and implement process improvements where possible to gain efficiencies in licensing process
- Perform licensing research as needed to support business units (e.g., research requirements and provide analysis as to ability to sell alcohol at each new proposed store site)
- Engage the company’s internal legal counsel in support of licensing efforts, as needed
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with state, county and local government officials
- Resolve license compliance issues
- Ensure all permit requirements for new stores and other development projects are known and in process for upcoming projects to meet or exceed projected ground break dates
- Manage all reporting and document sharing for licensing steps in using specialized Software
At a minimum, what you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree or applicable work experience Extremely organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and etiquette
- Proactive worker with an ability to creatively solve problems with a variety of variables
- Flexible team player with a positive, proactive attitude and drive to provide exceptional service and support to business units
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage own workload independently under deadlines while functioning in a team environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently while functioning in a team
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of internal and personnel information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to quickly learn and utilize specialized software programs to perform job tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Finance, Accounting, or Legal Coordination
- Notary Public Certification
