The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Equipment Manager to be based at our Corporate Office in Greensboro, North Carolina (099). This position will be responsible for managing the selection and equipment vendor relationships for new stores/ remodels and special projects. The successful candidate will be a strong team player possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment. This position will report to the Director of Indirect Purchasing.
What You'll Do:- Equipment selection (evaluating, cost and performance analysis etc.).
- Bidding equipment packages.
- Receiving and vetting equipment quotes.
- Scheduling deliveries for new stores, remodels, special projects and equipment replacements in existing stores.
- Maintaining the cut sheet/CAD block library.
- Managing vendor relationships (warranty issues, delivery issues, equipment performance issues etc.).
- Meeting with vendors about new products for us to consider.
- Meeting with the merchants to determine the proper piece of equipment to meet their needs.
- Provide accurate pricing to the teams for FFE and to the Purchasing team for purchase orders.
- Manage TFM procurement team (internal and external teams).
The Equipment Manager will be expected to demonstrate a high level of integrity with our employees and vendors. The Equipment Manager must have excellent multi-tasking, communication (written and oral) and organizational skills. The Equipment Manager leads by example and works to produce high quality finished products.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered as a substitute for formal education.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading equipment procurement in the grocery/restaurant industry.
- Past experience in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Solicitation of vendor quotes and equipment selections.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite is essential.
- Ability to work with all levels within our organization (Vice Presidents, Merchants, Technicians and Operators).
- Highly motivated, creative individual, who thinks strategically and possesses strong analytical skills.
