About the Position:

The Fresh Market is searching for a Zone Training Manager to be based in our Corporate Office (099) in Greensboro, NC. The Zone Training Manager will analyze, diagnose, and recommend performance development solutions. This role includes recommending and implementing learning solutions that improve Zone Vice President, Regional Manager of Operations, Store Management and Team Member performance that lead to improved business results. This person will work in a cross-functional partnership environment to develop, design, implement, and facilitate field initiatives.

This individual must reside or relocate within a commutable distance of our Corporate Office in Greensboro, NC, Chicago, IL, or Northeast region of the US.

What You'll Do:
  • Partner closely with Field Leadership to identify operational gaps and analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
  • Assist in developing and facilitating short and long term Management Development Programs targeted to Store and Department Management with the intent to enhance technical skills, leadership development and competency to drive key financial indicators (Sales, Service, Labor, Shrink)
  • Conduct store visits to analyze effectiveness, identify training gaps and gather feedback
  • Partner with Operations, Asset Protection, Merchandising, Finance, IT, Marketing and HR to develop, execute, facilitate and measure critical field initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Leadership Development, Team Member Relations Managers to assist ZVPs, RMOs and SMs in building Individual Development Plans for high potential leaders.
  • Improve Store Management and Team Member performance through training, measurement, evaluation and coaching
  • Manage organizational knowledge and learning functions to complement career planning and talent management
  • Design onboarding plans for Department Managers, Assistant Store Managers and Store Managers and conduct coaching sessions as needed to ensure successful onboarding and completion of training plans.
Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years work related experience in specialty grocery.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, and project management skills.
  • Previous experience as a National Trainer, Operations Trainer, District Manager, Store Manager or equivalent
  • Skilled as an internal consultant/coach to management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 50% across assigned region and to Corporate Office (Greensboro, NC).
  • Able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
