About the Position:

The Fresh Market currently has an opening for an Operations Excellence Manager in our Store Support Center (099). The Operations Excellence Manager will be responsible for the protection of company assets, reducing shrink and increasing profitability within an assigned geographic area. This position will prevent and detect retail losses by training, implementing and monitoring processes and programs, conducting investigations of theft, fraud and misappropriation and monitoring compliance to programs and processes designed to increase sales and reduce operational shrink.  

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct professional investigations of theft, shrink/loss, or violations of law or company policies and conduct subsequent interviews that may result in employment terminations or criminal charges.
  • Analyzes data reporting such as exception reporting, point of sale, inventory systems, loss of cash, equipment or company asset to identify and ultimately resolve shrink related and/or fraudulent or criminal activity.
  • Respond to, investigate and resolve acts of criminal violence in stores such as breaking and entering, robbery, assault, etc.
  • Conduct quality on-site visits to ensure that department standards and processes are in place and consistently executed to deliver expected financial results.  This includes CGO ordering, Periscope production, 5S organization, Instakey, Sonitrol, CCTV and Cash Office procedures.
  • Helps to develop and implement shrink reduction strategies, zone action plans and training initiatives for assigned geographical area.
  • Work closely with Field Operations and the Store Support Center as a partner to improve shrink results, cash shortages and other areas of loss that effect the company’s profitability.
  • Conduct store audits to ensure compliance to established policies and guidelines making recommendations to store operations and corporate leadership.
  • Coordinate retail processes and initiatives that affect merchandising, backroom conditions, cooler/freezer conditions, product handling, ordering, production, and other loss related activities.
  • Develop and implement shrink reduction strategies, action plans and training initiatives for assigned geographical area. Act as a subject matter expert in merchandising standards, flow and planograms. Provide expertise to stores in regards to range, space and merchandising to control loss and shrink.
Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience and progression.
  • 5 years multi-unit operations or retail loss prevention experience.
  • Operations experience and success in sales growth and shrink reduction.
  • Proven track record with conducting and resolving internal and external investigations.
  • Excellent oral & written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead through influence.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial data.
  • Ability to travel daily within assigned territory to include over nights and occasional weekends.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced Wicklander and Zulwaski interview training.
