About the Position:

Do you have a passion for Spirits, Wine & Liquor? Are you committed todelivering an excellent experience for guests? As the Spirits & Wine Specialist, you willserve as an in-store expert in the selection, tasting, and pairing of spirits and wines, providing a world-class guest experience by delivering personalized recommendations and fostering a passion for spirits and wine education. This role ensures the Spirits & Wines department is positioned as a destination for wine enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike. The Spirits & Wine Specialist will also assist with merchandising, inventory management, and events to enhance our store’s unique focus on special occasions, dinners, and holidays. You will support spirits and wine inventory accuracy, ensure rotation standards and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events. By combining attention to detail with strong organizational skills, you will inspire guest confidence, uphold compliance, and help drive sales success.

  • Assist guests with event planning and wine selections tailored to their specific needs, especially for holidays, special occasions, and meal pairings.

  • Manage the wine department’s merchandising, ensuring an organized and attractive presentation of products that align with seasonal trends, special occasions, and guest preferences.
  • Verifydeliveriesforaccuracyandfreshness,ensuringproperreceivingandstorage procedures.
  • Reduceshrinkthroughproactiverotationanddamagecontrolpractices.
Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays. 

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

  • 1+yearsofexperienceinretail,grocery,restaurant,orhospitality operations.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
  • Mustbeatleast18yearsof age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.
  • Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, wine and spirits production, and understanding of the wine and spirits industry.
  • Wine and Spirits certification (e.g. WSET, Sommelier Certification, CSS - Certified Specialist of Spirits).
  • Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Physical and Work Conditions:

  • Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
  • Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
